News: AUSTRALIA’S THOMSON PLAYFORD CUTLERS BOOSTS PROPERTY TEAM

The Australian commercial law firm, Thomson Playford Cutlers, has strengthened its national property practice with the appointment of Sarah Aitken as special counsel and leasing specialist.
Aitken, who joins the firm’s Sydney office to meet the demands of new and existing clients, previously worked as practice manager for the commercial leasing group at rival Australian firm Mallesons Stephen Jacques. While in this role she gained extensive experience in retail, commercial and industrial leasing, having acted for corporate and institutional clients (both as landlord and tenant).
Speaking of the move, Aitken said she was attracted to the firm because it remains committed to providing a full range of property services to corporate and institutional property clients, as part of its commercial property and development practice.
The appointment, which follows the hiring of senior property lawyer Julian Peters as consultant to the property and development team, is part of the firm’s strategy to continue to grow its national corporate real estate and leasing practice.
