News: GIDE LOYRETTE NOUEL BOLSTERS VIETNAM OFFICE

International law firm Gide Loyrette Nouel (GLN) has boosted its tax capabilities in Vietnam with the appointment of tax specialist, Phan Thi Lieu as head of its Vietnam tax practice.
Lieu, who has eight years tax experience advising a range of clients across various industries and investment-related issues, joins the firm from Deloitte. Her new practice will focus on establishing international tax-planning schemes, conducting due diligence, restructuring enterprise and completing double tax treaty applications. Lieu will also advise GLN’s corporate clients on business tax advisory and compliance issues.
The hiring comes three months after the arrival of tax specialist and former partner-in-charge of GLN’s Budapest office, Jacques Bernard de Servigny, as partner-in-charge of the Vietnam practice. And the arrival of international trade expert Tran Duc Son and former Sullivan & Cromwell LLP private acquisition and divestitures’ adviser, Samantha Campbell.
A firm spokesman said the appointments formed part of an ongoing expansion plan for the firm in Vietnam and the South-east Asia.
